First-gen professionals & high achievers: Therapy should be a space where you don’t have to over-explain. I offer warmth, clarity and real solutions—without labels or rigid frameworks. Let’s work together to navigate challenges & build a path that works.

What Therapy with Me is Like

Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you don’t know what to expect. If you’re a trailblazer, first in family, or pioneering professional, someone who has had trouble navigating the healthcare system, or someone who simply hasn’t found the right therapist, I want to offer a space that feels different—a space that is structured, warm, and built on trust.

A Collaborative and Thoughtful Approach

Therapy with me is not about labeling you or making you fit into a predefined framework. It’s about understanding your experiences in a way that makes sense for you. My approach is collaborative, meaning we work together to make sense of what’s happening in your life. I bring my expertise in psychiatry and therapy, but you bring something just as important: your lived experience. Together, we untangle challenges and find ways forward that are practical, sustainable, and aligned with your goals.

Structure Meets Flexibility

I believe that structure in therapy helps create safety. Knowing what to expect, having a clear process, and working toward defined goals can be incredibly grounding, especially if you’ve spent years feeling lost in systems that weren’t built with you in mind. But therapy is also dynamic—there’s room for exploration, for shifting priorities, for discovering insights you didn’t expect. My role is to hold that balance, helping you feel supported without feeling boxed in.

A Space Where You Don’t Have to Explain Everything

If you’ve ever felt unseen or misunderstood in professional spaces, you might worry that therapy will be the same—that you’ll have to explain the nuances of your identity, background, or struggles just to get to the actual work of healing. With me, you don’t have to over-explain. I understand the weight of being a trailblazer, first in family, or pioneering professional, the exhaustion of navigating a healthcare system that doesn’t always make sense, and the unspoken pressures that come with both. Therapy should be a place where you don’t have to fight to be understood—it should be a place where you can finally exhale.

The Role of Medication (If Needed)

Because I am both a therapist and a psychiatrist, I can also support you in considering whether medication might be helpful. But let’s be clear: medication is never the first or only answer. If we decide to explore that option, it will be part of a thoughtful, collaborative process where you have full agency. Whether you’re open to it or hesitant, we will have honest conversations about what feels right for you.

A Place for Growth, Not Perfection

You don’t need to have it all figured out to start therapy. You don’t need to be in crisis. You just need to be open to exploring what’s working, what’s not, and what might be possible. Therapy is not about becoming perfect—it’s about understanding yourself more fully and moving toward the life you want, with greater clarity and confidence.

If this resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. Let’s begin this journey together.
